Special Permit proposed by Related for Tuxedo Farms

FROM THE MAYOR'S DESK

Dear Neighbor's,

I have questions and concerns about unintended consequences if the Town Council approves the Special Permit proposed by Related for Tuxedo Farms without further clarification.

For answers, we must attend all the upcoming Town meetings and take advantage of the Public Comment Period to be heard or send letters and emails. Do not listen to anyone who says this is not a Village issue. It most certainly is. In its variety of iterations, this development has been a Village issue since before moving my family here 27-years ago.

Timing is everything. There is a Town Council election right around the corner. Incumbent candidate Jay H. Reichgott, P.E., and current Planning Board Member Deirdre Murphy are running for two open seats - Council Member Dave McMillen is retiring. Both individuals are running unopposed. Former Councilmember Dan Castricone is challenging incumbent Town Supervisor Ken English. We need a constructive dialog. I hope the candidates are planning campaign events in the Village.

I look forward to receiving the remaining responses to my Open Letter to the candidates.

Thanks,

Mayor Mac
