Wee Wah Park & Beach Club

Mission Statement

We are dedicated to maximizing the potential and effective management of the village-owned property situated on Wee Wah Lake. This unique piece of land, located in the northwest area of the lake, holds historical significance. In the early 20th century, it served as a destination for Tuxedo Club members, offering activities such as fowl and clay shooting and bathing. 

Since 1932, the property has undergone transformations through an agreement between the village and hamlet residents, who played an instrumental role in building Tuxedo Park. As a result, it was established as the Wee Wah Lake and Bathing Beach, offering recreational opportunities for the community. Recently, a change in Local Law in 2022 has expanded access to the property for village residents year-round, except for the summer swimming season (1:00 pm - 8:00 pm), requiring a membership. Grandfathered hamlet members from the former Wee Wah Beach Club (WWBC) are also allowed access. Furthermore, fishing rights on the property are leased to both residents and grandfathered hamlet members through the Wee Wah Fishing & Boating Club (WWFC). 

It's important to note that the Village Department of Public Works (DPW) operates essential facilities on the same property, including a warehouse, mechanical building, and equipment storage.

We have assembled a dedicated committee to oversee and guide the improvements on the property. The committee members include Denise Tavani and Matthew Tinari as Co-Chairs, along with Agnes Turner, Chrissy Corredor, and Michael Bruno. We are currently seeking additional members from the hamlet to join our improvement sub-committee, as we believe their valuable perspectives will contribute to the overall success of our efforts.

We are committed to ensuring that this village-owned property on Wee Wah Lake is utilized to its fullest potential and managed to benefit our entire community. Together, we can enhance this valuable resource for present and future generations.
