Officials from MTA Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad announced service updates ahead of the arrival of Hurricane Henri, which is expected to bring heavy rainfall, damaging winds and storm surges to Eastern Long Island and parts of Connecticut. 

“These service changes are to ensure the safety of LIRR customers and employees which will always be our top priority,” said LIRR President Phil Eng. “We strongly advise customers avoid unnecessary travel if possible. Our workforce will be out working to enable us to restore service on the east end once it is safe to do so. If you have to travel, real-time information is available through our TrainTime app, which is the best place to look for the latest travel data before, during, and after any storm.”
