COVID-19 Updates

Posted August 1, 2021

Reported Cases in Tuxedo Park - The number of known cases COVID-19 from January 2021 through June 2021 is unknown.

We began informally tracking cases again in July when the CDC reported on breakthrough cases (vaccinated individuals).

In July 2021, to date, we had a total of seven known cases of COVID-19. Six of the seven cases are breakthrough cases (vaccinated individuals) with two suspected cases of community-spread. As of July 30, 2021, six of the seven people have recovered, and the seventh most recent case is reaching the end of their recovery. Meaning by mid-week, we will not have any active cases. I am not aware of any current hospitalizations. Contact tracing of cases is done at the county and state levels.

Considering the census population of 623 Tuxedo Park residents and the fact that we have hundreds of non-residents entering the Park daily to work or visit our residents and clubs, our number of cases is not a cause for alarm. Each month we average 15,000 vehicles passing through our gates. However, cases in Orange County are rising rapidly, and the CDC has published a caution regarding masks today - August 2, 2021

Please refer to the CDC for the latest guidance on masks, social distancing, hygiene, and vaccinations.
