The Orange County Water Authority (OCWA) Approves Tuxedo Park Applcation

Attention Mayor of Tuxedo Park: The Orange County Water Authority (OCWA), with the support of the Orange County Legislature, set aside funds to, once again, offer municipal water supply leak detection services.

The Board of Directors reviewed your application for these services to survey 32 miles of your system at no cost to you. We are pleased to confirm your application has been approved. Through a competitive process, the Board of Directors awarded a contract to Upstate Leak Detection LLC of Hastings, New York on January 10, 2023 to perform this work on our behalf.

In preparation for the system-wide leak detection of our water systems next week at night, and sewer system inflow and infiltration monitoring, the DPW and water department must identify and mark manhole covers and water mains throughout the entire park and town. This means we are required to cross the utility easements that exist on privately owned properties, including through the woods to mark utility locations.
